SUPPORTED HOUSING COACH (Maternity Cover) Fixed Term Contract part-time
Saturday and Sunday 2 x 12 hour shifts
Working at YMCA MK is more than just a job, it’s a chance to make a difference, an opportunity to be part of making a positive impact on local young people in our community.
Much of the work we do is in our new fantastic and vibrant building on North Sixth Street in Milton Keynes, where we provide a welcoming and safe place for our young people to live – somewhere they can feel proud of. But we are more than just one building, we work across the community with the aim that every young person in Milton Keynes has the means and confidence to belong, contribute and thrive.
We are looking for someone who understands the needs of our young people and who is passionate about providing effective and engaging services that support the emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing of YMCA MK residents residing in our supported accommodation. The role focus is on promoting wellbeing, building confidence, developing independent living skills and preparing and supporting residents to move to into employment and onto a future beyond the YMCA. The support offered at YMCA Mk is asset-based, trauma informed and person-centred and the post holder will need to understand and work within these frameworks.
A significant part of the role is also to work with the residents to ensure that they understand and respect occupancy agreement conditions and that any breaches of this agreement are managed effectively. This includes motivating them to engage in the resident activity and independent living skills programme and where necessary manage and deal appropriately with anti-social behaviour.
You will be someone who has worked in a supported housing role or within a support environment for at least 12 months and you will be able to demonstrate your passion for wanting to be part of making positive change to young people’s lives.
The role is a part time role covering the weekend, Saturday and Sunday. (Two shifts of 12 hours). Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Our team is key to us in achieving our goals and we value and invest in all our employees to ensure that collectively, we provide the best support possible to our young people to help them reach their potential.
Along with a competitive salary we offer many employee benefits including:
· 25 days annual leave pro-rata
· An on-site café with employee discount
· Regular training and development opportunities
· 5% employer contribution into a pension scheme
· Life Insurance benefit x 4 salary
· Health Cash Plan
