In this senior and visible role at YMCA Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire, you’ll lead the development of powerful communications and campaigns across all our channels. With a small but strong team you will be responsible for helping us become the voice of local young people.
You’ll probably be a specialist in communications – but you’ll need to have a good working understanding of all key channels and the strategic role that each can play for YMCA. Most of all, you’ll need a strong instinct for shaping our narrative about the issues facing young people. What can we say to address the barriers faced by young people? What is going to resonate with key stakeholders? When and where are the opportunities for us to show our impact? What do our local communities need to hear from us?
The job is all about balancing these narratives and priorities, while ensuring that what we are putting out on a day-to-day basis is high-quality, engaging and being seen by the right people. You’ll need the ability to balance a range of audiences, including our young people, our team, local businesses, schools, political stakeholders, funders, and our fundraising audiences.
Above all else you need to have a passion for helping local young people to belong, contribute and thrive..
This role is full-time 37.5 hours per week, based at YMCA Milton Keynes. To start as soon as possible.
Salary £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
