A Day of Community, Challenge & Celebration
Sunday 16th March was a day to remember as YMCA MK proudly took part in the Milton Keynes Festival of Running! With an incredible team of 42 runners—including staff, residents, and supporters—we tackled 5km, 10km, and even a 20-mile race, all to raise vital funds for young people in our community.
We’re especially proud of one of our residents who completed the gruelling 20-mile race as part of their training for the London Marathon in April—an inspiring achievement!
A huge thank you to local businesses Woodfines Solicitors and MakeWell, whose teams not only took on the challenge but also played a key role in fundraising. Their generosity will help us provide young people with a safe home and the support they need to belong, contribute, and thrive.
Thanks to the incredible efforts of our runners and supporters, we’ve already raised over £4,000—and counting! A special shout-out to David at Milton Keynes Sports Therapy, who kept spirits high (and legs fresh!) by offering mini-massages at the finish line, boosting our fundraising total even further.
This year’s event was extra special, as it marked exactly five years since we moved into our Central Milton Keynes campus—a milestone worth celebrating!
To everyone who ran, donated, or cheered us on: thank you. Your support makes a real difference, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
“Thank you to all our runners who fundraised for us, volunteers and the wonderful Milton Keynes community who came out in their hundreds to cheer and support us and always shine at events like these. Fundraising is vital for YMCA so that we can continue to provide a safe place to call home and support for local young people.”
