Rotary MK Swimathon

Do you love swimming or want to get involved in your local community? YMCA Milton Keynes has the perfect opportunity for you!

We are thrilled to announce that YMCA Milton Keynes will participate in the Rotary MK Swimathon. We need 18 enthusiastic individuals to join our teams and support our cause.

Event Details:

Date: 22nd February 2025
Time: 11:00 – 13:30
Location: Wolverton Swimming & Fitness Centre

The Rotary MK Swimathon is an annual fun day that has raised over half a million pounds for local charities since 1994. We are excited to be part of this amazing event in 2025. As a swimmer for Team YMCA, we ask that you pledge to fundraise to help us support young people in Milton Keynes at risk of homelessness.

Not a fan of swimming, but still want to be involved? No worries! We also need volunteers to act as ‘clickers’ to keep track of the laps our swimmers complete.

How it works:

The teams will be split into 6 swimmers, and you will swim for 55 minutes in a relay style. When the claxon sounds, a swimmer from one end of the pool swims a length and then tags the swimmer waiting at the other end.

The clicker will count each time a swimmer touches the end of the pool, calculating how many lengths have been swum in the 55 minutes

Franklins £50 Challenge

The Franklins £50 Challenge is a local initiative that will see teams in the Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire communities competing against each other to raise as much money as possible for local charities. This year, our theme is all about making a difference locally, with emphasis on bringing local help and hope to every generation.

For the second year running YMCA have been chosen as a local charity. If you are a corporation and would like to dedicate your support to YMCA Milton Keynes, we encourage you to sign up. The challenge runs from 24 February to 23 May 2025.
