YMCA Milton Keynes

1 April 2021

Thanks to the generosity of our valued supporters, we have been able to transform seven offices into living space so that we can provide extra accommodation for young people experiencing homelessness in Milton Keynes (MK).

Central Milton Keynes Town Council, Stony Stratford Town Council and West Bletchley Council donated £2,500 each towards the refurbishment. We also received £3,200 from Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council, and £13,246 from Homeless Link.

Director of Housing and Support, Lisa Harrison said of the extra rooms: “We’ve been in our new campus barely a year and we’ve already had to expand our housing capacity to support the increasing number of local young people facing homelessness. We were only able to do this thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Thanks to their donations, we can now offer even more young people a safe place to live.”

Our campus on North Sixth Street is home to more than 240 young people. During their time at YMCA MK, our residents receive a wide range of practical, emotional and employment support. We give them the tools they need to start taking steps towards an independent and exciting future – one in which they can thrive.

With CEO Sleepout Milton Keynes, we are fundraising right now to generate much-needed income to fight homelessness and poverty in MK. Find out how our CEO, Simon Green, is getting involved by visiting his fundraising page.
