Short Term Accommodation

Milton Keynes YMCA provides supported emergency accommodation for people in crisis. We have a homeless hostel with 23 emergency beds and we also have 123 residential flats for young people 18 – 34 years seeking long term accommodation.

How can I get a bed and how long will it take?

Our reception opening hours are:

9.00am  – 4.30 pm Monday – Friday

Hostel Enquiries: 9.00am – 4.30pm for telephone enquiries or by intercom (located by our Hostel entrance on 402 North Row, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 2NR) everyday including Bank Holidays. To qualify for emergency accommodation, you must be aged between 18 – 34 years and be able to pay or receive benefits. Even if you are experiencing financial difficulties, we can still help you.

Our Hostel is usually fully occupied and if you require our help please continue to contact us regularly so that we know that you are still in need.

What documents do I need to bring?

We do require  2 forms of identification – although if this is not possible, please contact us and we will discuss alternative options. Photo Identification: Passport or Driving licence Address Identification: Evidence of your most recent address e.g. Bank or Benefits statement, utility bill, payslip.

How much will it cost? What if I can’t pay?

the charge for the hostel – including food and accommodation – changes from time to time: please ask when making your enquiry

If you are receiving State Benefits you will only have the service charge: currently £13.99 per week
If you are unable to meet these payments, please contact Reception on 01908 295600.

How long can I stay?

We will discuss this with you during your pre-assessment meeting with a member of the Housing Support Team

What’s expected of me and what help can I get?

We offer one to one support from fully qualified staff following assessment and have a range of Supported Services either on-site or with other partner organisations.

Facilities

We offer short term accommodation for 23 people. Room key provided, bedding and toiletries. Breakfast and dinner provided. Full use of on-site facilities: shower, laundry, communal lounge area with internet access, pool table, music, television and free gym membership. Private courtyard garden.
