With the organisation now fully embedded at our new CMK campus, YMCA Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire are preparing for our next phase of growth by strengthening our senior leadership team through internal promotions to two new roles. We are delighted to announce that Anne Rhind has been appointed Deputy CEO, and Kat Newman appointed Director of Youth and Community.
Anne will continue her work in developing support for our YMCA and the great work that we do with young people, but will now have a wider brief, helping us to further develop our positive and aspirational culture and innovative service delivery.
Kat will focus on growing services to support young people across Milton Keynes, as we develop community-based services for young people outside of our main site.
Anne has over 18 years’ experience of working in the charitable sector. As Director of Fundraising and Business Development for a national disability charity she secured nomination for the Official Charity of the London Marathon, The Times Christmas Appeal and launched a successful social enterprise. This is expertise she has applied to YMCA MK over the last four years, leading the hugely successful fundraising and development team who have raised over £2million.
Kat has worked in the youth and community sector for 13 years, including working on the ground in local communities in MK and leading the team that delivered the NCS programme across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. Kat’s team deliver the award-winning Hospital Navigator programme designed to tackle youth violence across the city. Kat is passionate about co-production and including youth voice in all aspects of YMCA’s work.
Since we moved into our new campus three years ago YMCA MK has grown significantly and is now able to support more local young people than ever before. We offer so much more than just a room, our campus is home to our residents and is a community for our young people. It was great to have our progress recognised last week at the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards, where we were awarded Charity of the Year. These new appointments will strengthen YMCA MK and support us to achieve our strategic aims to support young people to belong, contribute and thrive.
“YMCA MK is an ambitious organisation with aspirations to support even more young people across Milton Keynes. I am confident these appointments make us not only stronger, but also put us in the best position to achieve our vision for the future.” Simon Green CEO YMCA MK.
